Volunteer sign up for the 2025 Festival will open in May

More than 150 volunteers from our community work together each year to plan, host, and coordinate Halifax Pride. Here’s how to get involved:

FESTIVAl & EVENT VOLUNTEERS

Festival and Event Volunteers work alongside Volunteer Leaders to help set-up and run the events and initiatives that make Halifax Pride fabulous. Sign-up for a few hours during the festival or throughout the year. No experience is necessary, but a short training session is required.

We look for volunteers in some of the following areas:

• Event set-up

• Tickets & line control

• Closed space hangout support

• Merchandise sales

• Set-up/clean-up for various events

• Parade marshalling

• Accessibility support

• Hospitality support

Become a volunteer Lead

2025 Volunteer Lead Applications have closed.

Volunteer Leads serve as supervisors and team leaders at events. They receive additional volunteer training and take part in the planning of the events where they will be supervising others.

We are seeking enthusiastic individuals who are committed to fostering a positive environment and ensuring our volunteers feel empowered, informed, and appreciated. This role is ideal for strong communicators, team builders, and those who thrive in fast-paced, community-driven environments.

By joining the team as a Volunteer Lead, you’ll gain valuable leadership experience, connect with community members, and contribute to one of the most exciting and meaningful events in Halifax.
